Yep summer is here and as many leave to homes up north or head to Europe, Miami has become a city of constant year around events. So if you're planning on not traveling and staying put, here are some great things happening throughout the Magic City and South Florida.
Memorial Day weekend usually kicks off summer and we will have plenty to do starting with Miami Fashion Week which starts with a press conference at EAST on May 31 and runs through Sunday, June 4th. Actor turned designer and host of MFW, Antonio Banderas, returns to support his designer friend's Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, Rene Ruiz, Silvia Tcherassi, Angel Sanchez, Custo, Shantell Lacayo and others. Miami Fashion Bash night for MFW will have a concert by Latin Grammy winner Diego Torres at Ice Palace on June 3rd. MFW is endorsed by NY's CFDA.
Swim Miami returns showcasing the latest in swimwear fashions on July 20-23 to W Hotel Miami Beach. Designers and buyers flock to Miami Beach with see fashions down the runways, influencers, brand activations, brunches, industry types and a trade show.
We also love summer in Miami because one of the best tech conferences in the circuit, is right here in our backyard. eMerge America's on June 12 and 13th at the Miami Beach Convention Center, brings out some of the biggest names in the business. This year's names include co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure, Suze Orman and baseball slugger Alex Rodriguez. CNBC will be LIVE from the conference.
Univision network presents Premios Juventud on July 6 at the Wasco Center in Coral Gables . Catch celebrities like JBalvin, Shakira and also rumored Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi performing their summer hit song, Despasito.
Probably one of the funnest charity events you will attend all year, Amigo's Domino Night, brings out 1,500 who's who of party goers to Jungle Island on June 17 with Bacardi drinks all night, dancing, dominoes, silent auction, and music by DJ Irie. All the past superstars with great hits coming to South Florida including Diana Ross at the Arsht Center on June 25th. The Beatle's Paul McCartney comes to the American Airlines Arena on July 7th. One of the best concerts we've attended, Roger Waters brings his Walls to the AAA on July 13 and Rod Stewart with Cyndi Lauper on July 6th at the Hard Rock Live. The beautiful Mary J Blige does an intimate concert at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Aug 22nd. Paula Abdul, Boys to Men and New Kids on the Block should be a great show at the Hard Rock Live on July 16th. The 80's are back with Daryl Hall & John Oates with Tears for Fears at the triple A on June 7. Blondie and Garbage come to the Hard Rock Live on August 8. Also three stadium shows coming to Miami, U2 brings back Joshua Tree tour to the Hard Rock Stadium on June 11th, Guns and Roses at Marlins Park on August 8th and Coldplay at Hard Rock Stadium on August 28th.
Don't feel outdated by the legends, the amazing Chance the Rapper upgrades to the AA Arena (June 13), Khalid and friends at the Fillmore Miami Beach on August 2nd, Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull return for another tour June 23 (AAA), and Shawn Mendes with Charlie Puth July 26 (AAA) and our most anticipated concert, Ed Sheeren on Aug 30th also at the American Airlines Arena.
Live entertainment is on the list this summer and we can't wait for the return of Slava's Snow Show at the Arsht Center, July 12-August 6. Slava Snow Show is a fun, theatrical production full of interaction with the public and with no language barrier. A must see. Broadway Across America presents Finding Neverland at the Broward Center June 13-25. If you haven't visited the recently opened Frost Science Museum, expect big crowds this summer. The shark tank aquarium and 3D planetarium are our favorite. Also at the Frost Science, the return of it's laser light shows every first Friday, which will include your favorite music legends including Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk, Radiohead and others. Plenty of sports action too. WWE Live Summer Slam comes to the AA Arena on June 9. El Clasico soccer game exhibition between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona at the Hard Rock Stadium, July 29. The event being presented as a Soccer Super Bowl with even a halftime show by Salsa King Marc Anthony. Game is already sold out! The Miami Marlins might not be playing so hot, but they will host this year's Major League Baseball All Star Weekend including the Fanfest and All Star Sunday, July 10-11.
